7 channels (as the name implies), triple EQ, long-throw faders, XLR and RCA outputs.
At the core is the FreeVox disco sound (for big sound systems). The most interesting thing about this no-frills mixer is its sound (the somewhat stiff crossfader might throw off some people. It's not a hip hop mixer, that's for sure).

USE

It couldn't be easier to use. It's as basic as can be, which gives you the opportunity to discover the joys of its simplicity coupled with a mind-blowing technical level. I've been using it for 10 years and it still works perfectly. You only need to service it a bit to prolong its life.
But be careful, you need a rack for this mixer, since the connections are on the bottom.

SOUND

THE SOUND is the most important thing about this mixer. Freevox made no concessions with it and it's one of a kind. I have never heard anything better. Warm basses, ear-smacking mids and precise highs. What else could you ask for?
The EQs are incredibly good. It doesn't matter how fucked up the record is, you can have it sound like an authentic super production with a couple of moves.

OVERALL OPINION

I've been using it for nearly 10 years and it's still among the best. The Freevox is a legendary mixer. You can find it in the best French clubs (rex club, élysée montmartre...), in Ibiza and even in the States, where French DJs have explicitly asked for this gem. It's the Rolls among mixers! The sound of this mixer definitely marked the sound of the '90s!

- Rack-mountable console (plan on getting a flight case because it's quite big).
- It honors its name: 7 channels, long-throw faders.
- XLR balanced outputs... classic EQ per channel.

USE

- The overall configuration is a bit more complicated than on a regular DJ console. But the learning curve isn't too steep.

SOUND

- When you invest on such a DJ console, you are looking for quality. And in this case you get a reliable and robust product.
- Freevox Components... Transparent sound. Effective EQ for each channel.

OVERALL OPINION

- I've been using it for about 10 years.
- I always include it in my technical rider.
- Pros: Its operating quality. its additional outputs, the very characteristic Feevox environment ...
- Cons: Its price, maybe!
- I work with a lot of gear (Pioneer, Freevox, Soundcraft, A&H ...)

- I'm 100% satisfied with it!. We are talking about pro gear here, so the price is justified. I recommend it for gigs in clubs.

One of the few products made for pros when it came out. XLR and RCA to immortalize your set. Front panel in anodized aluminum, separate PSU = no hum! It's a tank. It's indestructible!

SOUND

This is where Freevox marks a difference in relation to competing products. THE CLUB SOUND in all its splendor! My DJ 7 is almost 10 years old and I still enjoy its particular sound in the evenings, the subtle mix of clear and dynamic mids with the XXL basses that my mixer produces! It grooves regardless of whether you use it with vinyls or CDs.

OVERALL OPINION

Freevox is a DeeJay's best friend! I started mixing with it and I plan to continue torturing subwoofers with it until it gives up on me (in 20 years maybe!!). VIVA!!!

SOUND

Wonderful sound...I have it connected to my hi-fi system at home.
A huge punch without noise...It doesn't have any problems with the VU-meters going into the reds.

OVERALL OPINION

To me, it's the best mixer made in France in its category.
I adopted it after having worked with its smaller sibling, the DJ6.
If I had to, I would surely buy it again!
From now on you'll have to deal with a nice pro unit...It's not a toy for kids, it has no BPM counter, it's well made. Now put yourself to work!

USE

Very easy to get familiar with, it's instinctive and clear. The knobs are far apart enough from each other to make settings comfortably. The long-throw faders allow you to mix very gently...With the help of the split balance of the headphones pre-listening, which means you have the current track on the left ear and the one you're syncing on the right one. It's a real treat!

SOUND

I use it with a marantz amp and it produces no noise. Very precise controls. The clarity in terms of frequency is such that you'll rediscover your songs. But it can also create some buzz with its disco sound! For techno mixes, the blend is subtle and deep, it's simply spellbinding.

OVERALL OPINION

I've been using it for two weeks and I can't stop asking myself how on earth did I not buy one before! The mixing comfort of the Dj Club seduced me several years back. Together with some technics sl 1210 mk2 decks (with ortofon concorde night club cartridges), it was the best setup I ever used (in a Paris nightclub). I had always wanted to go back to an analog mixer with long-throw faders, and I finally did. Freevox combines sturdiness, mix comfort and sound quality.. It's a MUST-HAVE!
