Published on 11/22/10 at 04:01I used this cell for a year and a half after having an old Barcus Berry, a fismann BP 100: to avoid, or manufacturing or even, 2 to 1 € piezo wafer, solder, glue for solidify ... I made a few, to test, and I currently use a Schertler Stat B select.
You can connect the full circle live on a bass amp, but there is a problem of impedance matching. Through a preamp designed for the high impedance of piezo are recovered severe grain, "air" in the acute and dynamics. It feels a little difference at home, but in a situation on stage, we quickly understand that it is essential when making the comparison with / without. For me, it's the old preamp minimum of Barcus I emerged from the dust that filled that office.
