Installation is classic without problem. Everything works the ds particulire beginners without difficulty.
My sound card, a 1820 EMU is recognized with all its ports.

Nice interface that looks like the previous ones. So no problem to navigate.

The app is in English but with a manual Franais giving all the basic functions.
However, most words are common in the field of audio and does not worry.

SUITABILITY/PERFORMANCE

I have a PC 1.5 GHz / 256MB / Sound Card EMU 1820.
No problem encountered. The software is stable. The audio sounds great and all
is very easy to use.

OVERALL OPINION

I use Sound Forge since version 6.
J'apprcie particulirement the new Batch Converter for processing files automatically.
(I couraging treatment of many files and it's nice to be able to do all over the lot at the same time)

The new price is much better placed. I bought 289 Euros in France.
Sound Forge is the product I use most. It's really the references. I recommend it
strongly for all audio work.

The installation of SF does not pose a problem, just follow the instructions, you can install the software on it any partition or hard drive.
My manual is in English because purchases made directly on the site of Sony, comes with CD Architect 5.
BMOL only for plug-in Mpeg problematic when Reinstalling; impossible to have the ID, he had re-contact the Sony Service! (This is a plug in charge and expensive but is useful to me) or to 8 / 10

Good recognition of the sound card.
Stable configuration, no more crashes with version 7, except when using large audio / video.

OVERALL OPINION

Since its launch. Before I used a demo version of SF7, there are no major changes from version 7 to the interface and the main treatment. The real plus for me t the joint offer with CD Architect.
Report quality fair price for a first purchase
For those with SF 7 and can stay I think version 7.

- What performance?

They are no limits .. the software loads fast, everything is clear, clean, prcis, no frills. However, we must know what one is: Sound Forge is the ultimate audio editor, but you know the effects before, know what a compressor, what is a standard .. etc. .. this is not a gadget hyper intuitive even if the app is very easy to ACCS. We can fiddle with anything and everything without difficulty but it will take a little time to understand the subtleties that make SF is unusual.

I like everything. This software is brillantissime, Gnial, Incomparable, indtronable ... Unstoppable. It is robust, simple, effective and clear rev.

I work in audio visual
now more often with Goldwave, High pass filters with low pass
progressive means, but very useful
but maybe the reviews are from previous trading at Sony?

I do not find that any sound forge has evolved taking into account the needs of mastering and current standardization, so it is normally sold without hiding! I would add that the models and preset cuts are limited to 3 or 4 times the same effect of 0

I didn't have anything to do with the installation process of the Sony Sound Forge 8 software that I have used, as it was already installed on the system that I used it on at my school.  However, in my time using it, it always worked well without too many bugs or issues.  The interface of the software didn't take me all that long to get accustomed to as it is a pretty user friendly piece of software, although there is a lot that you can do that I didn't get too into.  All of the typical features and functions are easy to find and understand though, so unless you're looking to learn all of the ins and outs of the software, I don't think that a manual is necessity.

The system that I ran Sony Sound Forge 8 on was a PC desktop running Windows XP.  Although this wouldn't have been my first choice to run the software on, I do have to say that it ran pretty well within this configuration.  I don't know all of the specs of the computer that I ran the software with, but definitely wasn't a top of the line computer or anything like that, and was rather ordinary.  I first used Sony Sound Forge 8 about four or five years ago in a Music Technology class...


OVERALL OPINION

The extent of my use with Sony Sound Forge 8 had to do with manipulating samples and experimenting with effects and digital processing.  I didn't go into too much detail in terms of mixing or creating, but for what I used it for it got the job done very well.  There are a few newer versions of Sound Forge that have come out since, although I haven't had a chance to check them out yet.  The price of this one and the newer versions are comparable, so I would probably recommend checking out Sound Forge 10, as I'm sure it is more up to date and has more to offer.  However, if you can get a cheaper version using Sound Forge 8, definitely keep in mind that on its own this is a powerful piece of software with a ton of capabilities...

Nice Feature everything you need for sampling loops and chopping up samples to make a whole diffrent melody its nice for anyone who samples thats what I mainly use it for.

I use it sometimes Cause mostly I compose beats there other stuff you casn do with this program like master your track and many other things but I don't do that.

I love this program because it makes me chop up my samples easily and I really like doing things with easy to use programs. If you are into a home studio and need some software you should definatly already have this or get it asap!!

I think for a recording program, it's got everything that you need. Has a nice list of effects, filters, etc... everything a good recording program should have.

I've used the older versions of sound forge in the past, and they mostly keep things the same, which is nice. I think the thing that is most important is figuring out how to use all the Fx and Filters and such, that is much more different than how to load an Mp3 and record over it.

I think this program offers great sound quality. I have used Adobe Audition in the past, and I just feel this program offers a greater level of quality.

Well, it's a program, it's stable, so to me, the quality and durability is a 10.

OVERALL OPINION

I don't Love this program as much as I have loved Audition, but I'm getting there. It's an on-going process, and I'm sure that down the road, this program will be one of my favorite pieces of software.
