Multiband dynamics processor for instruments (basse. ..) or mastering (or semi-pro models).

6-band compressor + gate + limiter / enhancer
3 strips of exciting
+ Tube emulation
In short, it has all the functions of the tenors of its kind!

Automatic control (he is listening to the signal to be processed, and choose among five options for setting, the more drastic than discrete).

24-bit 48kHz, XLR connector / jack, optional ES / EBU (70 €)

2U.

UTILIZATION

The settings are speaking, but require a good banding technique.
The automatic settings are very close to what you get "by hand": they are an excellent choice for the neophyte, and a good working basis for the sound engineer.

By confining themselves to automatic settings, the newcomers will do a few hours to master the device (in fact the time to understand the main principles of dynamics processing, explained in very educational in the manual).

Otherwise, as the adjustment parameters are comprehensive for each section, this is the kind of gear that takes time to edit.

SOUND QUALITY

It sounds much better and more versatile than the Focusrite Platinum ("Penta "...), TC Alesis Masterlink and TripleC. At least with Behringer, we pay for!
Obviously, compared to bikes of mastering studios, it loses some of its luster and is less premium (the price very aggressive dessert as much in terms of image ...).

It is very transparent as they are not asking for extreme settings: it gets harder if not necessarily, and it takes some time to solve the problems of pumping and gate too audible.
For cons, I do not agree with Behringer indicates that noise reduction: better filter type SNR 2000, the same multiband noise gate will never be as efficient and easy to use.

I recommend it for bass players, reducing the number of bands with 2 or 3, and for mastering models or semi-pro. It will also sound service, to increase the power of a system.

OVERALL OPINION

I use it for 3 years.
Its price / quality ratio is unbeatable. If one has good plug-ins like me now (Creamware, Waves, BLUETUBE), it is redundant. Otherwise, it beats hands down the plug "mastering" offered by Cubase and Logic, even in their most pro versions.
It is also used as a "simple" compressor, but it's a little mess, and the settings are necessarily more time with a digital camera with an analog. The remark is reverse in a home studio, where it will be appreciated instantly find its settings to make its decision.
