I bought the 2009 model, painted glossy black version (it's less expensive than natural wood painted model).
I have not noticed any unusual vibrations, unlike others who have posted an opinion. Maybe they were teething problems which were removed by the manufacturer. I do not redétaille the instrument, everything has already been said.

UTILIZATION

It weighs 4.1 kg, it is lighter but it is also heavier. I do not find fault him. It is easy enough to play for me who do not have large hands. The handle is not yet among the finest. Access to the treble is very good because the round is through. The pickups are well placed, they offer a place to rest the thumb for those who want, they do not interfere with the game to the fingers or slap. The head is tilted back, which is good for pressing the strings on the nut but which limit the choice of hard cases.

SOUNDS

The sound is huge, lots of sustain, the notes well-defined bass response, the medium, treble. The 3-band equalizer is effective, each band has a fairly wide frequency action. Can I have a fat, or crystalline, it is very versatile, a quick adjustment of the equalizer and it's done. For its very roots, deaf, we must add an external equalizer tap again to remove the treble, because it does not fail. The medium is naturally a little hollow. Knob of the medium used to compensate it if necessary. The switch used to turn on or off the equalizer, not a switch for active / passive mode. This bass is heard no sound without a battery. The EQ pots and have a micro scale midpoint, but other than that it is very difficult to pinpoint a position, which is a shame. The bass comes with strings D'addario EXL165 (105-045), nickel round threads. 45-105 normally it's called a drawing medium, but compared to the Ernie Ball Hybrid Slinky 45-105 that I used before, it would be rather light shooting.

OVERALL OPINION

I've had it three weeks. I'm pretty blown away by the value for money. The finish is impeccable. The sound is huge. Attention, as it has a lot of sound, we must be careful to mute the strings and play each note correctly (attack level), because all means. I have not tried many other basses but I would be surprised if we find better for around 500 euros. I would do this choice.
