«  Big sound! »

I availing oneself of the old version made in Japan. Mine has a body dyed black and painted in translucent fawn. It's not a black crots 2 cm thick. It dates from 1996 and has a handle pais standard long scale in rble. It gives him a good attack, very hard. Regarding the microphone, the coil of the triple clbrissime atk which is more than enough I think. No need for him to stick a single coil neck is out concept (even it is put Musicman ... fools!). The bass is active and electronics does his job.
The characteristics are close to my Musicman Stingray. Besides, I alternate between the two depending on the mood and ooncerts.
Here I believe I have done the trick. Lack the possibility of dbrayer in passive for me (when the battery is steep, has more laughs).

Hop! I am a small upload my opinion because I bought an ATK Indonsienne of latest generation, I'll be able to compare the two. The instrument is almost identical except that it is a more chouille lgre the Japanese (as against the wood sounds a bit more "hollow". I tested first by the bass "toc -toc "above). The Electronic loads is DIFFERENT (plastoc components). In contrast, ts positive trussroad the regulation of the focus is on the fawn Musicman (and it's nice) and the top of the neck, under saddle, has reinforced t (o is the fit when fit). CASC also the battery is DIFFERENT but it is only the way to see the first glance whether one is dealing a jap 'or another generation.

UTILIZATION

The handle is enjoyable for what I do (big stoner who chih). It is well in hand but has a `very strong terms that can hurt after a while. Ca dpend its paws. Since the goal is not to make arpges the octave, the handle did not t think for CASC to high frtes. So I do not care ... The bass has a healthy weight, you have to do is to rson an instrument. Otherwise take all cardboard. It is well balance.

Using almost identical except that it is a little more lgre ... but as explained above, higher wood Lger sounds more porous thus has less attack. APRS is a matter of taste, but often it is the electronics that has to compensate and lose the sound quality.

SOUNDS

I am therefore of great big rock burn like a Charolais bull. We play in drop C. I need bass not too rough but powerful, treble coming out well but without being garish, and specific on an attack that can pierce the mix ... and a sound that roar like a Harley. I played on a rig Ashdown ABM (evo 500II +4 * 10 +1 * 15) with a pedal Mazette that deals with overdrive. BLEND is the owl with a powerful and specific on the key but it takes me crados stoner. The bass is really (so no need to handle their singlecoil). Treble clap well. The attack is the mediator nickel. Overall everything is a notch below one millimeter of the Stingray, but I think it is very small. And why is this bass is more friendly and above all: Mechanical are more specific on the Musicman (at least in my bass).

So now in sound, we also have a small difference. The sound of the japanese is a bit more serious and wood ... a little more old school in fact. Attack mediator is perfect. In slap it without being specific on nickel and screaming (which I do not like about the musicman actually ... sorry). For the cons Indonsienne has a slightly more modern electronics, so more clearly and aggressively. I can not play with both using the same rglages (it is for some I'm going to change against a Japanese when I have one). A metal fan can find any fact on behalf of, a slappeur who did not sub for a MM but who wants a nice instrument. Slecteur playing with the microphone, you can always find more vintage sounds. So is still a very good bass that makes fun.

OVERALL OPINION

I recently and I made a bargain. I was looking for a long time. The quality-price ratio is incredible. I have a concert this weekend and I do not know yet if I take it that I or my Musicman cluck 3-4 times more expensive. Nothing is thrown away. But be careful, to make the best of the beast, one must evolve in the register of big fat rock spot.

I'm still amazed by the Japanese is not the most low CHRE or more thunder than I had ... but an instrument in runic everything I like. It is a matter of taste. The indonsienne is a good tool but I think that has lost a bit of charm 95 'ATK ... in fact it is a low height for what is done now with a more aggressive and clearer. I want a little more fat person. But I RPTE, the ATK is a veritable instrument for its price, with real wood banging.
