«  "LA" SRJV to have! »

Published on 10/24/12 at 04:54
Value For Money : Poor
I bought after having been there for a long time on a jv-1080.

But as I also recently bought XP-50, partly out of nostalgia and because it nétait cheap, I wanted to add a map SRJV: the choice was quickly made: the vintage synth!

For me, in 2012, at banks and gigantic free, this is the only card in the series worthwhile SRJV stroke, despite high prices secondhand (2 times more expensive than other SRJV, there is a reason)

Why?

Because this is the grain counts (Roland synths 1994-1996, not sure that we can imitate them with virtual ...).
the main interest being in their old machines synth sounds, sounds of acoustic imitation is long outdated (see other SRJV).

The sounds are the most useful for me pads "Jupiter 8" (nothing to do with the true but it is not serious, they are superb), imitation mellotron, strings machines (Solina) and some good punchy bass, other sounds rather be customize according to your tastes.

Moreover, the value of this card is to build its own patch, which is necessarily less interesting to other SRJV that mimic the acoustics.

This ezt therefore almost the only card that grows SRJV edit waveforms to create your own patches.

Of course, some patches are useless now (at the time no Virtual Analogs) but nothing for those that I mentioned ...

It seems that this card sounds better on the JD-990: it is possible by the different converters but it is still excellent for the JV series.

You can listen some patches here: http://www.synthmania.com/sr-jv80-04.htm, but it is relative comments on the site because they date!

All waveforms are the four SRJV available on the SRX 7 (which contains four waveforms which SRJV 4), but not all patches: https://www.rolandus.com/flash / demos / srx / srx_demo.html

If you like synth sounds that you like "hack" and you are looking for a map SRJV take it (but you guessed it!).

NB: if you buy the last Integra-7 Roland, you have all the sounds CArDS SRJV (and much more), but it will not be the same price (or the same grain?).
