UTILIZATION

It is a high gain distortion perfect for metalheads with this ingenious system that allows the ISF to change the response and character of the pedal to switch between the british marshall type to us at the mesa boogie. Everything is very clear, this is not a gas plant.

SOUND QUALITY

Just plugged in, one is amazed by the sound quality: it beats all pedals of this type that I own or have tried it except for the Vox Satchurator which operates on a slightly different. Exit the mayhem of Seymour Duncan and his lack of gain or lack of trunk of the Metal Monster Guyatone example, here is the true tube sound, plump, muscular yet precise. ISF allows for two pedals in one with all the intermediate colors, very convenient to adjust depending on which amp you play. It has the best of two worlds namely Marshall and Mesa. The even harmonics are beautiful and for once we can enjoy the race without the knobs to get sounds unusable as is too often the case. For example the bass do not explode on hp or do not dampen the signal completely and treble fully does not make any riff in terrible noise drill or swarm of killer bees. It respects the guitars while printing character to the amp without distorting it. Virtually no noise except a very slight hiss when the gain is completely thorough, it is by far the quietest tube pedal I've tried, even compared to others who gain more low.
All styles require a large distortion is affordable with equal success on the pedal: shred, fusion, heavy, thrash, new metal, power metal, fm ... the moment we are looking for power and heat. The single coil pickups sound great too and you can easily find the sound of Yngwie or Eric Johnson with good microphones like the Fender Stratocaster and a noiseless. By boosting the mids and with double coils, the distortion is fat and found the sound of Billy Gibbons. It passes easily from Maiden to Megadeth, Black Sabbath to Slayer, turning the isf and digging more or less the media, all the classic metal sound with the Blackstar. Its high gain and natural compression can have a heavy rhythmic sound with the gain only half as long as the microphones have a relatively high output level. Only a few fans or industrial death may find a little too hot for their liking, loving these styles a fairly tight grain and the acute tear.
The output emulating a HP is very effective and there are about the sound characteristics of a 1x12 tube combo taken over by a sm57. It may well consider registering with, especially given that for once we can do without noise gate.

OVERALL OPINION

I've had two months it is perfect for my style. I own, have owned and tried a lot of distortion and overdrive pedals, multi-effects and preamps. This is the best with the Vox Satriani. To be truly perfect, one might wish it had a knob of parametric mids, but with the addition of an eq is quickly resolved, especially as his mediums are well calibrated. A real tool for pro affordable, more of a preamp than a distortion pedal, it is simply indispensable to my arsenal.
