My Stingray is light honey burst, making San Luis Obispo, California. Saddle handle one pice to see, rosewood fingerboard 22 keys, the team clbre pav musicman humbucker slecteur with 3 positions (SERIES, simple, and parallel on) and 4 knobs (volume, treble, mdium, bass). The bridge is chrome and very imposing, no harm done, even if they could think to do a bridge with strings through body for the price we paid (I saw the fury peavey strings through-V) ...
The handle is not so wide that if one is accustomed to playing on precision, the spacing between the strings is almost the same as 4 strings and yet you get used to quickly trs 5th string.
Nothing else to say except that the MODEL I, we see that the head is not painted but it's just a dtail. To touch the body of the varnish is all sweet = p
UTILIZATION
Despite the fact adjust the 5-string, the handle is royal. Access in treble is super facile.Le handle is super soft to the touch is really a pure joy. It is not so heavy that it can be prtendre (believing that many bass players are girls without shoulders), the PSE 4.5kg, as much as precision, and much less heavy a Cort Artisan A4.
The slecteur is 60% of the job all by itself, the position toward the handle (in SERIES) provides a sound rather bold (type precision), while the position towards the bridge (in parallle) will give a more Jazzbass more acute. The central position only connects one winding, which suggests a trslger grsillement that it is no longer in humbucker mode I think. The correctors are trs Tone effective fat or refine the sound, knowing that once any position 0 (the stop) the stingray sounds trsmdium. Clearly very easy to ring the bte!!
SOUNDS
This bass is a real musical happening everywhere! slecteur and thanks to the 3-band EQ you can get all kinds of sounds that you want!
Switch position series, add serious and you get a good fat rock sound
parallle switch position, a lightweight hollow in mdiums and go for a slap dfoulade
These four markers can really cover all the styles, even tapping (dja I read posts saying that the stingray did not sound in tapping, which is absolutely false, it suffices to know the machine and know the rgler mdiums, and I do not see a bass be a slap in REFERENCE and not ringing in tapping the knowledge that both techniques have percussive)
As I said, the position allows a simple micro grsillement lightweight so I avoid to use it (the sound is still very slamming on this position)
OVERALL OPINION
I have my stingray for 2 weeks, I know it is not able to give an opinion, but I'm bass player for 5 years and so I can give my first impressions dja.
The price can be daunting normment it's true, but I got mine for € 1875 in dstockage (even cheaper than MusicStore and store +!) But unfortunately without the flight which is pretty bad, but the store has me a expr command for me.
It remains an ultimate weapon for all situations so here goes. It is normal that it is still a REFERENCE to suprieure fender US in terms of its quality and knowing that the purpose of c'tait Lo Fender cr when the Stingray.
