Score Music Interactive is at AE3 in Boston where they are introducing a new system for multimedia music composers.
Xhail is mainly intended for the multimedia, TV and movie industries. It generates automatically and in real time unique music cues based on keywords (music style, genre, emotion, localization…), by using stems stored on an online library. You can then edit these creations by changing instruments, adding/removing parts, regenerating parts, altering the tempo and more.
The other particularity of Xhail is its global licence system for each project. Score Music Interactive ensures that each music cue that was created cannot be generated twice, so each project is truly unique (however the stems will stay on the server for reuse). Composing rights are then managed by Score Music Interactive who provide a licence to the users before they can download the mix in the format they want. Registering is free, the user can store the music cues on their account and only pays the licence once the project is sold. Pricing of the licence depends on the type of project. Regarding the composers and session musicians who create the stems, Xhail can identify them. They retain 100% of their writer share and Score Music Interactive will pay them 50% of the profits from the sync licence fees.
