The resulting sound is good, finally, It depends on the gear that is derrire the guitar too! Personally I did put a kit EMG Zakk Wylde (81/85) because I found the pickups a little feeble, without being a bit messy EXAGRES either but for my style of music I needed more of precision and potatoes, plus the new assets are super knobs progressive, so a problem of rsolu dj!
    With the original pickups I put him 8 / 10 and with EMG 9 / 10

    SOUNDS

I play an Engl Thunder 50 head with a baffle in Mount Framus V30, I play in Drop C and mostly death metal, hardcore and all that sounds insane!
It is a very versatile guitar, with preferences for rock and metal I think, even if a little blues trs happens when even good!
The original pickups sound good without me, there are ways to be content, but not my style.
EMG with the kit I really gained in precision while keeping a grain enough staff, they do not scratch in the dnatur gnral, they really optimize!

    OVERALL OPINION

I possde my little Iceman for 10 months, and I never tire of watching yet, I find it really beautiful! And finish are superb, nothing wrong that level-l. For a guitar of this price range, I did not expect to receive such a good guitar that comes with most fly box! Ibanez thank you ...
O When I bought it I did not try normment guitar because I was born m'tais that the. Since I tried a little of everything, all the brands and I do not really regret my choice is the guitar that I needed!
I bought 640 new, so for me a report qualitprix excellent!
If this choice I would do ...? Ooooh yes!

So I just changed my 2 mics! I put two Seymour Duncan SH-2n Jazz and SH-4, switches knobs thanks 2 push-push! Honntement, I ' Iceman've never heard my sound as well, APRS 2 years of use!

with the SH-2n Jazz, simple switch position, the trs get a close to a Fender Start, which is impossible with two microphones home! and the sound of sh-4 solo gives me pulses crazy!

Frankly, trs happy with this scratching the base, but upgrade a few years later, and hop is something crazy! [/ B]

    Good for the price

    Ibanez IC400Published on 09/14/11 at 14:20
Ibanez is known for their very inexpensive guitars as well as they're highly used overdrive pedal such as the tube screamer pedal which is probably the most famous overdrive distortion pedal in existence. These guitars I believe came out in the late 70s early 80s and had a unique body style but really a huge influence from the Gibson style of guitars. These guitars happily have an interesting look and an interesting body shape but the overall feel is a very Gibson type feel. If you have ever play to Gibson Les Paul or a Gibson explorer then you'll notice the balance weight and feel of thebody can be very similar to his guitar.

    UTILIZATION

This guitar features a three-way selector in between the two humbucker pick ups as well as well as a pick up selector. You have two volume control knobs and two tone control knobs, which is very much like to Gibson guitar. You have 22 frets along the fretboard that is a rosewood fretboard with its block inlays. It features a bolt on neck and has a nice overall black paint job.

    SOUNDS

This guitar sounds pretty good in a rock setting because of the thick double humbucker pickups. It can have a warm sound that is going to be comparable to a Gibson sounding guitar. These guitars primarily used mahogany wood and a mahogany neck wood. So you'll then have a very thick and warm tone. If you see Paul Gilbert then you can see a similar body shape to this guitar only his guitars feature single coil pickups rather than humbucker pickups.

    OVERALL OPINION

These guitars of been discontinued for a while now but you can find them in the used section and in the classifieds very easily for right around 500 or $600. That's a pretty good price for good quality guitar mating Korea. They are fun guitars and definitely have a unique look to them.

    Upgraded model

    Ibanez IC400Published on 09/06/11 at 13:31
The IC400 is a slightly upgraded model when compared to the IC300. This model has a mahogany body instead of the basswood one, but aside from that, they're fairly similar in overall construction. The guitar features a mahogany body, a maple neck with a rosewood fretboard, 22 extra jumbo frets, no inlays, a hard tail bridge, two humbuckers, two volumes, two tones and a three way switch.

    UTILIZATION

This is the upgraded model, but it's still not quite in the league of the IC500. The guitar has a nice mahogany body with a black paintjob. Honestly, I'm a bit sick of black paintjobs as I see so many of them come and go, but I guess that's a very personal thing. The frets on this ne…

This is the upgraded model, but it's still not quite in the league of the IC500. The guitar has a nice mahogany body with a black paintjob. Honestly, I'm a bit sick of black paintjobs as I see so many of them come and go, but I guess that's a very personal thing. The frets on this needed some attention, as did the nut. I would be spending a good $200 extra on this with my luthier if I decided to keep this thing. That aside, the guitar wasn't too heavy, and it was fairly lively.

    SOUNDS

The guitar had the standard Ibanez electronics installed in it. I've never been a huge fan of electronics, and I almost always replace them. The bridge sounds like it's lacking something. It doesn't have that organic quality to it, and it doesn't seem to be as touch sensitive as some of the other pickups on the market. The neck pickup is much the same way. It lacks the clarity that I look for, but what's more is that it doesn't seem to respond to my picking as much as something like a DiMarzio Air Norton would. If you're going to get this, I recommend replacing the pickups.

    OVERALL OPINION

These are better than the 300 series, mostly due to the fact that they use mahogany instead of basswood. I'm not a hater of basswood guitars, but I find that mahogany tends to sound a bit better, especially once you start playing heavier stuff. For leads, basswood is good, but the basswood used on the lower end models doesn't seem to be quite as nice as the higher end RG basswood. Replace the pickups and you got yourself a good player.

    Classic Ibanez design

    Ibanez IC400Published on 08/12/11 at 22:45
Back in the day Ibanez was known for their copies of guitars. The Ibanez Lawsuit era found them making guitars that were better than what america was producing at the time. This was one of their first original design loosely based of the Les Paul design. When these came out they were better than the 70s American guitars that were being made. This guitar has a mahogany body with a set in maple neck. The fretboard is rosewood with split trapezoid inlays and 22 medium frets. It has dual Ibanez humbuckers with with a standard set of controls. The controls are traditional with a volume and tone for each pickup with a 3 way switch. The pickups are switched with a 3 way toggle on the upper bout and the bridge an Ibanez tune-o-matic stop tail combination.

    UTILIZATION

These guitars are not really shred guitars. They have a more traditional feel to these. Back in the 70s these guitars were blowing Gibsons away in playability because the American quality had declined so much. The upper fret access is pretty good because of the unique lower horn. Whenever I see one of these guitars I cant help but think they look like upside down Rickenbacker basses. Early on these guitars were just called "Artist" models. There was also a Greco guitar just like it made in the same factory called the Mirage. The 3 piece maple neck is strong and it is a setneck so the heel is not too big. The medium frets have pretty vintage feel but they are still totally playable. This guitar feels a lot like a Les Paul but plays better. These guitars have all the playbility of the RG models just with a more traditional feel. You can still get a super low action on these guitars even with its older style construction.

    SOUNDS

These guitars have a nice beefy tone like a Les Paul. They have a beefier sound than Ibanez's shred guitars because it is a more beefy guitar overall. This guitar can do just about anything from Jazz to rock and blues. It has a very smooth tone like a Les Paul. The bridge pickup is nice and crunchy with an open tone. It has more of a classic rock voicing to it. The neck pickup has a smoother sound like a typical Les Paul neck pickup. It can get muddy but that is a normal neck position thing. A set of after market pickups would really take this guitar over the top. This guitar sounds good with the stock Ibanez garbage in it that means it would would superb with some good pickups. For a guitar like this I would recommend some Seymour Duncans.

    OVERALL OPINION

The Iceman is one of the most unique and longest lasting guitars in the Ibanez line. They were great guitars then and they are great guitars now. They are like the Les Paul from Bizzaro world. They play great and have a decent tone stock. A stock decent tones means an excellent tone once you get some good pickup in it. The Iceman is an iconic Ibanez shape so if you are looking for one of these you can get a vintage one or a new one. I would try to get a vintage one first but either way you are getting a good guitar.

The neck is extremely comfortable (ibanez requires). Cons should be better by the fingers more "elongated" than "small" fingers
on the other hand it is not balanced at all, worse than my BC Rich, which makes playing live a bit difficult sometimes, because in addition to playing he must hold the handle .. it's a good story always, but it's always worse.

I took it for the look, plus there are no longer like that (the handle is a different story ... still standardization to lower production costs, but brief)

Precision settings, mechanical and wood qualities. on the other hand electronics is essential to change.

This is not a very good value for money, that's not necessarily a bad thing, but for this price we can get an instrument a little better in electronics for the same quality of stringed instruments. But the good form that ...
