    Parker P44

    Parker Guitars P-44Published on 07/08/02 at 15:00
After an exhaustive search in local shops and on the web I found this guitar for $638 at RiksMusic.com.

The list price was over $1100 and no one else even came close to matching Riks price!

    I love everything about it!

    + Mahogany body
    + Flame maple top
    + Dual split coil humbuckers
    + Piezo / acoustic pickups
    + Active mixer
    + Grover locking tuners

The tonal possibilities are amazing. The humbuckers are hot. The split coil lets you get a pseudo single coil sound, sans hum (I hate hum!). The piezos yield a very realistic acoustic sound, but mix them with the magnetics and you get a hybrid that introduces a whole new dimension of sound.

With a mono plug, the magnetics and the piezos mix in the active electronics, but with a stereo plug you can get magnetics on one channel and piezos on the other channel. Nice touch, Parker!

The finish is simply beautiful (I went with the transparent charcoal).

I've never had a guitar stay in tune like this... even neckthroughs and hardtails (this guitar has a bolt-on neck and a Fishman bridge with a whammy)...

It's almost spooky how it stays in tune...

    I have nothing to say

Very solid guitar. Flawless finish. The controls are well organized and well placed. The body has a nice sense of balance, not too heavy - not too light.

I went to the local Guitar Center and tried the P38. I liked the playability and the workmanship, but the ash body felt insubstantial and cheap. I liked the tonal flexibility (especially the piezos), but I could not find a single pickup selection that didn't hum and I hated that glam pickguard that covered 80% of the guitar!

I knew the P44 would have all the things I liked about the P38 and none of the things I hated about it. Nevertheless, it seemed like a huge risk - I've never bought a guitar without first trying it out... much less over the web...

My risk was amply rewarded. "Nothing plays like a Parker" (I didn't make that up). This is clearly one of the best investments I have ever made, I have no regrets, and I can't say enough great things about the Parker P44.

    I'd give it a 6 if I could!

(This content has been automatically translated from French)
Guitar assembles into core, as all models P-series.
The P-44 is the high end of the SERIES, she makes the junction with the Americans MODELS (Fly).
The violin is absolutely perfect. it says it is a MODEL 1000 Euros when same.
22 Frets, Pickups Parker Doubles (splitables) Piezo / Fishman Vibrato.
7 possibilities of switches (with two double splitables single, a piezo, and the opportunity to play even this little world, it leaves room).
Micros magntiques: Volume / Tone Push-bull
    Micro Piezo Acoustic: Volume.

    Weight 3 kgs
    Mahogany body
    Maple Neck
    Ebony fingerboard

Given the possibilities, forcing five paintings.

    UTILIZATION

This handle is a highway. No problem to access to acute.
Absolutely perfect (I possde a Gibson Les Paul Studio, and honestly, it is not nearly as enjoyable as Parker).
It's simple, I can get any style of sound. For the first time I find myself with a guitar able to get the sound of a Fender twin on one and two seconds later that of a Les Paul on a JCM 800.

The horn is annoying to some people when playing seated. I have no problem in this cot l.

    SOUNDS

I use it mostly in studio config. It is perfectly comfortable with whatever style.
The Parker are made to be totally versatile. And believe me, this is the P-44!

In the future I'll see if I change the microphone for a Chevallet Paf Pro or similar to Dimarzio.

    OVERALL OPINION

Parker had a small cot "No one another," and I must admit I love this cot mgalo ;-)
Someone who did not tried REALLY miss a great moment. Ok, everyone does not like this form necessarily (ERC Franais by the way), but Ken Parker can be proud of his toys.
The P-44 is closer to Fly without approaching their price sometimes astronomical.
From his perspective, nothing envy (I often jou a Fly Mojo)

    I love this guitar.

    UTILIZATION

The handle end and pretty ebony fingerboard provide a set trs enjoyable and easy.
You feel at ease the first contact ds. The 22 frets are sufficient with an open access to acute trs.
its grip, its good contact with the body and weight make this guitar an instrument that is happy to exploit. Sitting as standing
his vibrato is to be shot with parsimony, if not well ... requires raccordage (damage to a skyscraper at this price!! tite my peavey EVH Koreans do not move a muscle even if I depends on the vibrato! lol)

    SOUNDS

Due to its electronics offers many opportunities Sonnora.
I will not go up that it sounds like a gibson or I sell my LPcustom
But it takes its place in funk, mtal ... and even in jazz.
The guitar solo with the amp and a reverb ti hair and already has rings.
Its sound is well-defined and trs trs microphone efficaces.Les harmonics fuse easily and downs are the mediums as needed.
damper on the treble down handle, adjustable? I do not know, but not sound.
    It said: VERSATILITY
But for purists, it has not!
When the piezo, it is certainly not the electroacoustic but one electric, has opened other fields Sonnora interressants trs, especially since it is either one .... either with dual magnetic pickups .(... which gives: 13 combinations of microphones possible) and pti more: Stereo, Voui stero jack to connect the two amps which simultanment an electro-acoustic dedi.
My damper on the sounds: I find it a little cold or mtalique, I know not too explain, but can be corrected with the rest of the stuff
or a change in microphone and can be trying ...

    OVERALL OPINION

I have for almost a year and I with regal. I have a gibson and I was looking for sth different (lighter, faster, more modern)
I prefer the ibanez but I admit that even when I return often to my gibson trs.
TRS is a good scratch in a reasonable budjet 800 (discount) that can work in many musical styles.
There may be better but it's about APRS budjet.
If it was it again? not because there are so many guitars have a try! lol
    But this one, I care.

    Parker Guitars P-44Published on 11/10/08 at 16:08

Everything has been said. The finishes are really a notch above its class guitars (ibanez etc ...) with round ebony fingerboard, neat electronic (welding, assembly and wiring of the pickups, and piezo pickup combinations. At 800 euros new, it really good stuff for this price range. I put 9.

Overall the interface is very well thought, sitting and standing, it is besides the guitar that I find most enjoyable to play while standing ... but not too light, great balance.
For ergonomic knobs is not bad but it takes some getting used to juggling the 13 combinations (only humbuckers, splitter, piezo alone or in combination with humbuckers).

    SOUNDS

Sides ... sounds to me is the second highlight of the scratch, there are 13 combinations of piezo and humbuckers. We spend a large disto type LP with humbuckers, sounds clear to those fendériens Split humbuckers via push-pull and then we end up sound via the piezo sound is super versatile.
After you end up trying to mix piezo and humbuckers and the Ben you come across that sounds not think this scratches especially clear with the humbucker and piezo splitted ... kind of sounds like a fender tele or excellent for play SRV or Hendrix. The sounds are neither cold nor metal (must adjust his amp that's all :-) however I tend to agree to try to change the humbuckers (with Duncan or DiMarzio is a killer is on ) has provided you have the stuff that goes behind the ears ... and to make a difference.

    OVERALL OPINION

I have a few months and in view of sound, the playability and build quality compared to the price that P44 is at the top. Having had a lot of guitars, this one surpasses her cousins fendérienes, gibsonnienes ibanezienes and (in the same price ranges of course).
One downside, the importer distributes poorly (see forum P44), it is not easy to find and little-known music stores (see forum too).
Suffice to say that I Gallery to find mine.

With experience, I make the same choice with eyes closed. And with a budget of over? Ben NITEFLY a FLY or (Besides if I found a vigier bouhhh)
