AcustiX Steinway Piano: A very compact yet dynamic and brilliant sounding digital sampled piano.

AcustiX Concert Grand PianoPublished on 01/28/15 at 04:15
There are a lot of sampled pianos available on the market today, especially in Kontakt format. Most of them are very large in size, others sound too bright or metallic and lack the warmth of a real concert piano.

The AcustiX Steinway Piano was created with the smaller equipped music workstation in mind, without compromising on sound quality. This piano uses only 74 MB of carefully selected samples from 2 famous Steinway Grand Pianos blended together. Halion only, which might be unfortunate...(although I think other formats will be available in the near future). It's sample-based (21 notes sampled on 88).

    SOUND QUALITY

I discovered his piano on https://www.purgatorycreek.com where the "digital piano shootout" allows you to compare different instruments.
It sounds very warm and realistic, less metallic than "The Grand," for example. The dynamics leave much to be desired.

    OVERALL OPINION

Compared to VSTs like "the Grand" or "akoustik piano," which take a lot of space on the HDD and take a lot of time to load, Acustix Steinway is an interesting solution, if you have Halion. The file is only 20Mb big. The price (ap…
