Thread Question about my firewire mackie onyx 1220

I bought this mixer with the firewire option card and i can not record on my computer in stereo. The card in the back of the mixer has two firewire outputs, i suppose one for left and one for right. this is great accept for the fact that my macbook only has one firewire input.

i've been considering several solutions to this problem, including using firewire - usb converters (my macbook has two usb ports), or possibly routing my digital signal to my mbox to record in protools.

by the way does anyone know if the digital converters in an mbox 2 pro are better or worse than a mackie onyx 1220?
