«  Very good small membrane »

Published on 01/24/11 at 00:02
Value For Money : Excellent
Small (average) membrane capacitor. It is sold cardioid but can have optional or OMI hypercardio membranes.
The microphone is a good size, I was surprised, being accustomed to the AKG C452. There must be 2cm. It is rugged and beautiful construction. It has two low-cut filters (see manufacturer) and 2 attenuators (-10 and -20 dB)-20dB gives the funny results, it changes the sound a bit. But frankly it is not helpful. Even with-10dB, micro largely cash (drums drums, amps).
It comes in a beautiful wooden box. I bought 3 for toms drum, and one of the 3 is in a bamboo box, the large class.
It comes with a clip and a Bonette. I mounted on suspension but not essential.

OVERALL OPINION

On advice from a sound engineer friend, I bought it to use the drums battery. Leaving a little air (10cm) they give an incredible result! I used them with preamp ART MPA II, and the sound is balanced, with beautiful precision and serious. The dynamic is very good. There is almost no end to the mix, and that's what I wanted.
I tested it on a guitar amp, a Fender Hot Rod Deluxe that grows well and yet to 20cm, with-10dB, the microphone preamp and cashing. The sound is airy, the bass on the amp is well balanced. The sound is much more natural than an SM 57.
On acoustic guitar he is convincing, I usually need the AKG C452, but it need not be ashamed of the result.
At a small session where I was missing a vocal mic, I used it and despite its small capsule, the result on the vote is correct. It is not too bright, and the sound is pretty sweet.
So even if a micro polyvalant is more comfortable on the instruments of course.
My main opinion is that it has a well-balanced and natural, without the presence (bump at 10kHz) with other builders abuse to give the illusion of precision.
This is a microphone at reasonable price or cheap, but quality is impeccable, and above all it has an interesting sound for those who seek neutrality.
For a drum kit is definitely the best choice. For 450euros you have 3 and snare drums with a sharpness and clarity great.
Sontronics Bravo!
