«  Good choice »

For over a year since I mounted my little Ibanez SA 260, I have therefore set up a central position in the neck position and a shareholder has in the bridge position EMG H4A (recall the config SA 260 = HSS).
Well, this was my first guitar at the beginning you think she is perfect, you end up finding him full of defects, we bought a guitar upper range (RG 1570), we forget time and finally with the experience we say that he missed very little to really be the hair ...
A change was therefore necessary to mic. With the purchase of a time between Lag Arkane 1000 (!) And its fantastic EMG active pickups, so I decided to graft a squad of passive EMG thinking it should already be conclusive ...
Result: A well rounded, very nice clean whether inter-or round, slamming into a very crunchy and very "malmsteenien" with a well balanced and disto matos adequate (Line 6 POD FARM and game 8-38 ). It really transformed my SA so that it is again one of my guitars its first plans for this very "characteristic".

The pros:
Sounds very good clean, crunch, distortion
The slamming of character, no breath

The -:
Not a huge level of output.

For the price, quality is at the rendezvous, a good choice if you want to upgrade your old guitar and give him a second youth, especially if you think like me as a guitar does not sell (on principle or out of nostalgia) in view of the number of hours of happiness she has given us.

YES because the EMG passive proves to be quite a compromise for designers who do not necessarily afford to go upmarket ...
