UTILIZATION

Given the nature of Bass, Middle and Trebble and their operation must be carried out some experiments to find the right sound. Nothing difficult, of course! These three functions provide really dramatic changes and it has nothing to do with the traditional EQ settings. The amount of media plays a crucial role in achieving a sound Crunch: you must make money.
The manual contains explanations on the operation mode of this very special EQ but it is not really useful.
With a single channel, the tower is quick!
As for the sound: just fantastic!

SOUNDS

This head provides a clear sound just fantastic, one of the most beautiful I've heard. Tested with different HP's (Eminence Man O War, Eminence Governor and Jensen C12Q and C12K), it gives a quality stamp flawless. The entire sound spectrum is valued: low net farm, balanced midrange and not projected sharp defined with great musicality, all coated with a natural compression.
The 3-band EQ proves a formidable machine to sculpt the sound and not just make simple light shades as is often the case. A particular setting medium that changes drastically the sound and allows bonus when set to background, getting a quality suitable for Crunch rhythmic pop / rock.
The choice of two power (7.5W or 15), via the bypass switch is interesting. The tonal balance remains quality half power with a slight loss of gloss, but a gain in body when mounting the volume to achieve the same sound pressure than full power.
With hindsight, I think the alliance with the most successful Jensen. In this configuration, I get a full and accurate extraordinary clean, rich, which is enhanced by the modulation (in my case: MXR Phaser, Flanger and Chorus). I said that I play Les Paul.
The head is impeccably pedals facade, restoring the differences between the OD, the Disto and Fuzz (MXR GT OD Custom Badass, Disto + Vintage Reissue, Electro Harmonix Little Big Muff) and responding with precision settings.

OVERALL OPINION

Here is a quality product (made in Korea and non-egg-China), proposed by a barrel price, which will showcase all the guitars, cabinets and effects pedals that will be connected.

A small downside: the reverb is noisy when it exceeds 9 to 12 to full power and half power. Too bad because it has good sound quality can not be fully exploited. However, even with the aforementioned settings, its presence is felt, and again, with great distinction.

But this is a detail view of quality and I'm really impressed with this head Ampeg I advise you to consider if you are looking primarily a base with a clean beautiful to enjoy the effects.

At this price, it's a gift and best of all I realized that acquisition.
