[NAMM] Apogee Duet and Quartet for Mac and iPad

Apogee will launch in february a new version of the Duet audio interface and the update of the Quartet interface for using with iOS devices.

The Apogee Duet for iPad and Mac builds on the Duet 2 interface launched last year but now includes a circuit that allows for using and even charging an iPad, iPhone or iPod Touch. A 30 pin cable will ship with the interface, users of newest iOS devices will need a Lightning adapter sold separately. And the new Maestro App for iOS will allow users to access the Duet parameters and setup the interface latency.

The Duet features 2 analog inputs with mic preamps and 48V phantom power, 2 balanced analog line outputs, a 1/4" stereo headphone output, a MIDI in/out via USB A-type connector, and USB 2.0 audio port. It's compatible with any Core Audio application (GarageBand, Auria, MultiTrack...).

The Duet for iPad and Mac will be available in February for $595. More information on

The Apogee Quartet will also be compatible with the iPad, iPhone and iPod Touch but if you already own the interface, you won't have to replace it. Apogee will make available a 30-pin iOS connector (contact Apogee or your local distributor for more info, the connector is compatible with the Lighting adapter) and release an update for the Quartet. With this update, the Quartet will be able to connect directly to the iOS device and even charge it. The Maestro App will also be necessary for setting up the interface.

The Quartet features 4 analog inputs with mic preamps and 48V phantom power, ADAT/SMUX digital inputs, MIDI input/output via USB A-type connector, 6 balanced analog ligne outputs, a stereo headphone output and a USB 2.0 audio port.

The Quartet for iPad and Mac will also be available in February for $1295. Users of the Quartet will receive an e-mail with the update information. More details on
