Published on 01/07/11 at 01:15I bought a Mac to put myself in the computer music and I had a small audio interface to register easily. This was a very complete view connections, so I was seduced by the fact that I could keep it long, even if I complicate my stuff a little later.
I already knew Line 6 across their product and I was confident. An opportunity presented itself and I jumped on it.
So I use an iMac with Core 2 Duo, connected together simply by USB and I record the guitar only.
This is for fun, I did not need (or afford) materials "heavy".
UTILIZATION
I use it in two ways:
- With the Pod Farm stand alone, to play at night with headphones: you must use the headphone output of the UX2, impossible to make out the sound through the computer's sound card is a bit distressing that (it's not his fault, it's the Pod Farm software that chose him, then can we really blame him? ... yes, you can: -1 point).
- With Garaband (soon to logic express): no problem. You can record two tracks simultaneously: two microphones, or instrument and a microphone.
The updates are regular and are managed by the application Line 6 Monkey.
There is no noticeable latency.
GETTING STARTED
So Snow Leopard, the drivers sold simply does not. A little later download the Line 6 site, everything was in order. No problems between the Mac and UX2 since the agreement is perfect.
There's a few knobs on the bug, I do not hit often.
POD Farm does not always recognize the UX2: one farm, we raise and it works. AC does not come from the UX2, ca software comes Pod Farm (stand alone or plugin).
OVERALL OPINION
It's been a year since I use it.
It is easy to use and it works well: it's not the pro stuff, but for fun (seriously) is very ample. He lacks nothing on this beast.
She is not ugly, but it could have been nicer ... It takes a little place on the other hand and knobs on top (and the two humps of the meters) prevents stack anything on it ...
