Kyser KGEBA Black Quick-Change Electric Capo

The Kyser Quick-Change Electric 6-string capo is the perfect little capo for electric guitars. It can be repositioned with just one hand, and it can be moved without altering your guitar's tuning. It comes in many colors, including Black, Red, White, Silver, Gold, and Blue. It has a single spring in the back, which is connected to both the handle and the portion that grabs the back of the guitar's neck. The section that pushes against the frets is stationary, along with the other side of the handle. This small device allows you to easily put the capo on your guitar with one hand, and it can be done very quickly. It can even be done in a middle of a song, which my band's other guitarist does do. I find it works great on both acoustic guitars and electric guitars, and I have yet to find a standard guitar that it doesn't seem to fit on. In other words, it is almost entirely universal, and the design is very iconic.

I find that for some instruments, mainly my acoustic guitars, I will need to slightly retune my strings after I put the capo on, as it sometimes shifts the tuning, and doesn't grab the strings perfectly. This nuisance is fairly common with capos of all types, however, and it is a necessary step to retune if you are a tuning freak. The Kyser capo is padded on both sections where it touches the guitar, and if used properly, will never come close to damaging your guitar, including more sensitive and fragile acoustic guitars. The spring has never wore down for me, and the capo have never broken. I've had my Kyser capo for several years, and there's absolutely no sign of year, even the black color hasn't faded, no wears whatsoever.

Overall, this is the perfect little tuner that every guitarist should have. In fact, I have three of them laying around my basement right now, and I use all of them almost constantly. Be sure to check this thing out, and you'll never research other capo's ever again.

This is a really standard capo, one of the most popular (if not THE most popular) capo on the American market. It's overall, a pretty good capo. However, it is not my favorite, and I have a few reasons for this. For whatever reason, I find myself slamming my left hand into it, especially when I'm playing down by the capo when it's on the frets. I don't know why this is, I guess that I instinctively keep a portion of my hand on the other side of the nut when I'm playing. Either way, the large top part of this capo always frustrates me, to the point where I find myself trying to switch it upside-down, and that too gives me problems (and also looks kind of strange, unless you can pull it off). Also, it takes great care to not get a few slight intonation problems on this capo. I always find myself putting it on, then realizing that it's slightly bending the bottom two strings (or the top two if it's upside down). The fact of the matter is that putting it on takes way longer than it should, especially to make sure that it's in tune. I recently started using another capo that has given me less problems in this regard, and isn't quite as big. It's also not quite as bland and dark as this one (it's silver), which I wouldn't worry about unless it was something that's going to be clearly visible, which is the case with this. I can't totally hate on this capo, as I've used it for many years and have been happy, but I've recently been happier with my Dunlop. Don't hesitate to get this though, if you like it. It'll never break on you, ever, and it won't get too loose either. They last for years. A good buy overall, minus a few nitpicks.

The Kyser KGEB Capo is in my opinion the best capo that you can buy.  I've used it on acoustic guitar, electric guitar, and mandolin, and have found that it works great in all of these situations.  Out of all the capos that I have used, this is the one that I use the most for shows and for recording because it stays on tight and is easy to put on and take off.  It isn't like the capos that need to be screwed, buckled or anything else like that - you simply lock it onto the neck.  Another big plus is that the parts that touch the guitar have rubber padding, so you don't have to worry about any wear on your guitar from your capo like with some other capos out there.  As long as you don't lose it, which I have done, this capo should last you a long time because it is built well and I can't envision any scenario where it could break.  Honestly, if you're looking for a capo I would highly recommend getting the Kyser KGEB and not any other model or brand.  There are no other capos out there that I have seen that even come close to matching the build and ease of use as this one.  The price is in the ballpark of the other capos out there, and may even be cheaper in some cases.  I believe that it will only cost around $15 USD, and I've actually got a few of them in my possession as you never know when a second one might come in handy at a show.  I can't think of anything whatsoever wrong with the KGEB as it really is the perfect capo for any sort of use.  I think that a lot of people out there would agree with me when I say that this is the capo that you want!
