    Squier Affinity Strat Pack

Squier Frontman Pack - Affinity Strat + Frontman 15RPublished on 04/27/06 at 15:00
Im in a cover band, play all types of music. I've been playing for roughly 4 years now but have been with many bands already, pro and garage bands. Country to Death Metal. My main guitar is a MIM Fender Strat with Seyour Duncans. I also have a Cort Strat, B.c. Rich Bonze Warlock, and an Alvarez Acoustic. Im going to pick up an Epiphone LP Custom too soon.

I got this package from a Co-worker a few days ago, he needed the cash bad so I talked him down to 100 bucks, i got the guitar, amp, and a case, he had lost the tuner and the other little stuff. This pack usually goes for $279 bucks in the catalogs. He had bought it only about a month before i got it from him. So its in new condition.

To be honest, im picky when it comes to guitars, and being i have a pro built fender, i dont like much about this guitar. But its not horrible. Just doesnt meet MY preferences. I would say for the price, i guess it has a decent neck, tuners seem to be alright. Pickups seem to sound ok. The amp is junk in my opinion, but very louder than i expected. But i also have a Behringer GMX 212 as my gigging amp. For begginers though, the amp is good enough. Overall, i would say this pack is good enough for begginers, or if you're strapped for cash and just want something to dink around on. This is alright for the price, but i would probably try Epiphone, its better stuff for the price.

I dont like how cheap it feels compared to my Fender, but hey, thats why its a Squier, not a Fender. I think the electronics are probably the weak point of this guitar. But they will get ya by. The amp is loud, but not a "quality" loud. Its kind of grungy sounding, but maybe you'er into that sound. who knows?

It seems to be built good. I would bring it on the road, but only as a backup.

Decent for the price i guess. I wouldnt buy another one. I dont even know why i boght this one to be honest. Idk, good enough for a beginner.

    Squier Strat Pack Affinity Strat

Squier Frontman Pack - Affinity Strat + Frontman 15RPublished on 07/21/04 at 15:00
i bought this thing at a local music shop for a little over 200 U.S. dollars. (california)

when i bought this...i was a beginner who had no guitar playing experience at aLL. it looked good, construction was decent. according to some other poeple i've gotten lucky with mine, other certain people's strat packs had bunch of problems. but after i've played for a few months, now i realize squiers are crap. i suggest you go over to the "dislike" part of this review.

FINALLY...the guitar sucks, the amp sucks (15watt fender frontman 15G). the pickups are horrible quality, i'm a huge hendrix fan..and with a squier, there is no way anyone can acheive the tone of hendrix's music (actually the guitar…

FINALLY...the guitar sucks, the amp sucks (15watt fender frontman 15G). the pickups are horrible quality, i'm a huge hendrix fan..and with a squier, there is no way anyone can acheive the tone of hendrix's music (actually the guitar basically has no tone it sucks)...most of all..the fret job is so crap you have you stick your fingertip in to the fretboard when playing a note to avoid an annoying BUZZ..its like the guitar is holding me back from getting better (i just get super frustrated sometimes and feel like i want to poo all over the guitar). and like i said, i've gotten lucky with my strat pack my guitar had no technical problems

you get what you paid for..and taht is exactly my point. the construction isnt half bad but its probably built in some sweatshop in Indonesia, what the hell can you possibly expect. im no racist but im just saying that at certain times you can be really disappointed with this guitar unless youre a beginner like i was.

as long as you are just starting out..this isnt half bad actually. but i warn you..this guitar is only temporary till you get better. in fact im buying a real fender strat pretty soon. but if you do buy a squier and youre satisfied, hey whatever you know? good for you. i know i was for the first couple months of playing

    Squier Strat Pack

Squier Frontman Pack - Affinity Strat + Frontman 15RPublished on 12/04/03 at 15:00
I got this pack at my local Guitar Center for $200. (They had a special.) It came with a Squier Affinity Stratocaster, 15 W Fender Frontman Amp, cord, picks, tuner, strap, and a really crappy guitar method book. All in all, a good deal.

Many people will tell you that Squiers are total junk. Others will argue vehemently that for the price, they're excellent guitars. Now I've experienced both of these and I think that it depends on the model you get. However, rest assured that the Affinity is a real bargain for the price tag. It's got 3 standard single coil pickups, rosewood fretboard, alder body, white pickguard, and a 5 way selector switch. Although some of the combos buzz (more on that l…

Now I've experienced both of these and I think that it depends on the model you get. However, rest assured that the Affinity is a real bargain for the price tag. It's got 3 standard single coil pickups, rosewood fretboard, alder body, white pickguard, and a 5 way selector switch. Although some of the combos buzz (more on that later) you can get a nice bright sound out of the guitar and for a tiny amp it can put out some nice distortion.

The buzzing E string drove me crazy, I had to go truss rod crazy on it. Noticed buzzing frets on others guitars, but the pack comes with all the adjusters so just mess around or if you're new to the game, ask an experienced person to do it for you. (Try to avoid shelling out 30 berries to get it "professionally" tuned up.) If you put the amp near other electronics it tends to start buzzing and feedback can be a pain. Still, keep it far enough away and/or use the feedback to your advantage. Guitar stayed in tune pretty well UNTIL i started messing around with the action etc, then it started slipping for a couple of days when it got back into gear.

This thing is solid like a rock, but the strap isn't, which is how i found out it's solid like a rock. Other reviewers said they found lots of little metal pieces in the guitar? I found no such thing, opened everything up and it was all in good shape. The nut on the input should be tightened and watched though, as with most Fenders it has a tendency of falling off. No biggie, just twist it back on. The pickups are ok, not lovely, but for a beginner it's fine. The amp's good too, no complaints, nice solid little thing.

I think this is a great guitar for anyone wanting to play just casually or maybe work up to a more professional level. I got this baby a long time ago, and have been using her ever since (although mainly for travel or practice.) Still, it makes a great christmas present for those of you who are well-off, and for those of you that aren't: don't buy a squier bullet. Get a Strat pack. If you are willing to go that extra hundred or so, get an epiphone, but it's nice to have the amp n all. Anyway, bottom line is this is a nice guitar, nothing special but it'll be faithful to you until you upgrade. I played it for at least 3 years before I moved on to my Firebird.

    Squier Strat Pack

Squier Frontman Pack - Affinity Strat + Frontman 15RPublished on 09/23/03 at 15:00
I bought this pack form Musicians Friend for about 200 dollars.

Well this was my first REAL guitar (I started with a first act and a 10 watt amp) and for beginners its not that bad. I like the double tone dials, and the tone switch can be bumped up or down while playing. The paint job is pretty nice, but the paint chips pretty easily. Its lightweight which is pretyt nice, and it has a pretty good balance. The amp it comes wiht is nice, a 38W Frontman.

OK, here we go. when I play i play hard, and every time I play hard, the coil comes out! Antother thing is the bolt dont come out easily, but once thye come out and you screw them back in, it strips it! So Im playing with the damn coil liter…

Antother thing is the bolt dont come out easily, but once thye come out and you screw them back in, it strips it! So Im playing with the damn coil literally taped into the body.... Also theres bits of metal under the pickups... Its not very durable, so dont get it unless oyur a beginner. The amp is ok, but if your looking for heavy stuff, you better buy a petal. If your not precise on hitting frets, it makes a horrible buzzing sound too. The neck is veyr dry, my hands get blisters from sliding.

Ok, heres the thing I hate............The outside is well built, but inside is a mess! Theres chips of metal scrapes and shavings of picks! Its not very well built, and scratches and chips very easily.

I wouldnt buy this if I wasnt a beginner. Beware, its not veyr durable, its like a.....temporary guitar

    Squier Strat Pack

Squier Frontman Pack - Affinity Strat + Frontman 15RPublished on 03/21/03 at 15:00
i bought this guitat at a local guitat shop for about 280 minus tax. i bought it because i thought that picking up guitar would be a great way for me to expand my song writing and i wanted an okay quality instrument.

this is an excellent guitar pak for beginners especially teenagers begging their parents for one for chirstmas or birhtdays. the guitar itself is not the best but it is useable for even intermediate players. the amp is very loud for its size.

the one thing that killed me about this amp is the buzzage. on the clean channel its extremely annoying. on the distortion channel its less annoying if you are playing with low gain but with high gain its just as bad or worse. also, the …

the one thing that killed me about this amp is the buzzage. on the clean channel its extremely annoying. on the distortion channel its less annoying if you are playing with low gain but with high gain its just as bad or worse. also, the 10 foot cable included in this much less than what i needed. 10 feet is for a small room and when i practice im in a pretty big room.

the construction of the guitar is very solid. unless you smack it pretty hard into something metal or a corner of wood it shouldnt leave anything. the amp however i had a problem with. i was walking away wearing the guitar still plugged in to assist my bassist when the amp just fell face first. i didnt think it hit very hard since it was on the ground already and all it did was tip over. But when i took it to the guitar shop it turns out the circuit board was cracked from end to end (another $40 setback). unless you take good care of this amp it will come back to haunt you.

to be extra satisfied (and if you have the money) if you buy this package also buy a longer cable, and whatever better insurance thing they have if there is one.

    Fender Strat Pack

Squier Frontman Pack - Affinity Strat + Frontman 15RPublished on 12/07/02 at 15:00
I had been learning acoustic guitar for about 6 months and was looking for a good starting eletric. I looked aroung until i came across this Fender Squier Strat Pack. I thought this is perfect. It had a Fender Frontman amp 15watts, A Fender Squier Affinity Strat, eletric tuner, lead picks, strap and gig bag. The perfect set up for a beginner who wants an eletric. I bought it for about $300 US and $600 AUS. I bought in a shop called derringers in adelaide in australia.

I love this so much and will never sell it or give it away. its built solid same as the amp and its a perfect ltlle guitar. Seeing its made by fender you will exepct quality and thats what you get from the guitar and amp. Myn…

I love this so much and will never sell it or give it away. its built solid same as the amp and its a perfect ltlle guitar. Seeing its made by fender you will exepct quality and thats what you get from the guitar and amp. Myne is white and the paint work is great. I gone through a couple of pick guards which isnt that majour. The amp being fender to is great it has a nice clean tone and some great dirty sounds to. The distortion is turned on by a switch on the front pannel and has the gain knob to. You can plug your cd player in to it and plug it into your pc to save your playing on the computer.

The one thing i dont like about it is that the coloring on the rosewood fret board comes of a bit but it dosent afect the playing of it and i also one thing you should change the pickups after about 6 months coz they can get a bit old as in not as good tone. And the bridge is a bit hard to Palm Mute on

Its is a well built guitar and i wouldent go much futher than it. The amp is greatly built and can take a bit of abuse. The amp gives out great tone and i love the pack all together

The Bottom lione is that the guitar is great and if you have been playing over a year a would go for a fender standerd strat but overall the pack is great and i highly recomend it to begginers

    Squier Strat Pack

Squier Frontman Pack - Affinity Strat + Frontman 15RPublished on 11/17/02 at 15:00
Rented for $5 per month (3 month max) at Mars music.

Good guitar for the most part, nice look, sound. Stays in tune for a long time. The amp has pretty good distortion, could be better. Great overall value, for what I'm renting it for. Very comfortable. Good beginners guitar.

Horrible connection, the cable is always coming disconnected when I jam with the amp, it's quite irritating and is the worst feature in this pack. I don't know if this is a problem with the entire line of this product, or just mine because it's used. My friend's sister has this guitar too and he said she also has a problem with the connection.

I'm tired of typing, I think you get the point.

Personally I think it is better to buy this package than 359 ad 250!
buy squier strato fm15r affinity and is a good idea but the pack does not make as if you buy a 359 because strato 215 AND 140 FM15R you win 4! if it is the equivalent of your budget ... So take the tps to try other guitars (tele squier strato or epiphone sg and paul) and another amp (peavey marshall etc) ... I almost bought this pack in the store but we do not win then sub j'aipris the tps to choose ... I bought the squier standard tele ... a cut above the range and I picked this amp ... all on the Internet. total 340 with a better scratching ...
