«  A good amp, but not as peavey fit. »

amp lamps (BUT NOT ALL LIGHTS!) because a clipper of the lead channel has reported zener diodes, and the effects loop and reverb drive by transistors also. Between high and low gain (effective), effects loop (not switchable), 2 speaker outputs, a jack for connecting pedal switch (channel and gain boost). 100W delivers what is effective in a group together, but avoid at home. Effects: volume boost on the front, gain boost in front / bottom bracket, front reverb. A negative note this: non-switchable Reverb pedal. -2 Channels not truly independent because half the lamps are shared, so V1 and V3 change alters the sound of the lead. cons by independent EQ. not really any lamps, since effects loop, reverb, equalization buffed by transistors, admittedly somewhat transparent in sound, but transistor. So only 6 / 10 because of these negative points.

UTILIZATION

simple configuration, if one knows at least settle an amp. The preamp can enjoy the sound color of each lamp depending on the brand used and the choice is important. We get it sound easy. But: Clear Channel share and distal half of the preamp stage, so find lamps that have a super clean sound and you lose on the saturation, conversely, when we found the ideal combination for the distortion, clean sound is not as beautiful. Yep channel Peavey independent means independent EQ, but the preamps stages are partly common. so we just have a beautiful clean, or a good distortion, but the two have become difficult with a configuration of lamps. So for a first amp lamp is cool, but for research SOUND, we quickly become disillusioned.

SOUNDS

Genre blues, jazz: good, according to the selected 12AX7 config (we just have a round, or crystalline depending on the lamp) Rock: Yes, absolutely correct. I would say that is the domain of this amp. Hard rock / heavy: yes, according to the selected lamps, and also according to the guitar. Hard metal: At the limit, but you have to push the gain and you start to clip the diode, so the sound sounds less lamps. Death / thrash: very fair, the gain must be pushed hard enough, the diode has clipped all going, and the sound loses its momentum and color lamps, one tends more towards sounding transistor.

OVERALL OPINION

been used for 4 / 5 years including 2 years in its original configuration, and then adding changes to the son for months. For several months I prefer to use only the power amp section of the amp (which I love) and bring back my true all-tube preamp custom in the return of the effects loop. In the amp lights I tried before: Marshall Mode Four, 5150, triple rectify bugera 333, Ibanez TB100, bandit 112, vox VT 30. and another but I have everything in mind. The pros: price, fiabilitée, strength, modern rock sound, the fact that really takes advantage of color sound lights, power more than enough for a group. The big +: The amp as editable as I know (see my post tips section) The -: not truly independent channels, contrary to what is announced, the non-switchable reverb in feet, not suitable for aggressive metal unlike certain items (some announced by peavey). I think such a person who shows patrcick Rondat play on a VK (available on the peavey site,) I managed to get the same sound, but it was enough to make internal changes consequent to the circuit, so it'll be well in official tests peavey uses the material in the original version, or sell the equipment used in testing. In hindsight, I do it again this election if I were to buy an amp, but I will give him the change I have already made. But honestly at the present time, I much prefer making my preamp lamps, at least I'm not disappointed about the quality and the features advertised. Cons by the power amp section adore, she is not colorful and really brings what I was looking at capacity without changing the sound of my preamp. Value for money, hard to find better lamps, the fastness is by far much higher than has amp lamps competitors same price range, which have commelotte potentiometers, component of poor quality. It certainly lacks versatility, yes, but impossible to criticize anything about reliability, because it has undergone many changes, and never Cramm, even the day I planted in my mod, only the fuse was skipped, so after all he has suffered, I just say that it is sustainable as stupid.
